## Chinese paper recycling standards likely
_By Editorial Staff, Resource Recycling_
Speakers at a recent paper recycling conference in China sponsored by RISI and the Chinese Resources Recycling Association suggest that industry standardization is on the horizon.
A key reason Chinese recovered paper standards appear likely is the rising levels of fiber collections in that country. About 50 million tons of recyclable paper are collected annually in China. However, bale quality varies widely, and several experts at the conference suggest this will change, reports RISI. This view was supported by an official from the country's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, who spoke at the Beijing conference.
