## Capturing more film in Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and two national groups have formed a partnership to expand the recycling of flexible film packaging.
The department has entered into an agreement with the American Chemistry Council's Flexible Film Recycling Group and GreenBlue's Sustainable Packaging Coalition to develop and implement a three-part program this year intended to increase the recycling of post-consumer plastic bags, wraps and other plastic film throughout the state.
The new program will seek to recycle commercial film (pallet and packaging) for both small and mid-sized businesses, while also raising consumer awareness and participation in plastic film recycling. It will also encourage businesses to use the SPC's [How2Recycle](http://www.how2recycle.info/) "Store Drop-off" bag/film recycling label on plastic bags and other polyethylene film packaging.
This label is intended to help consumers easily identify what plastic film is suitable for recycling at participating stores.
"This new partnership builds on significant gains in plastic film recycling in recent years and demonstrates Wisconsin's leadership," said Steve Russell, vice president of ACC's plastics department, in a prepared statement. "We look forward to expanding recycling success in Wisconsin and creating a model that other states will want to follow."
