Resource Recycling Magazine: Virgin paper goes back on tax welfare rolls

## Reuse symbol design contest launched

_By Editorial Staff, Resource Recycling_

You've no doubt seen the ubiquitous "chasing arrows" recycling symbol. Now, _Earth911_ is seeking to create a universal symbol for reuse.

_Earth911_, an online recycling directory that also offers tips on how consumers can reduce their environmental impact, is soliciting designs for an image that it hopes will become closely associated with reusing items. Seeking to create an icon that consumers will immediately associate with reuse, the winning emblem will be available for use by any person or organization seeking to encourage reuse. The icon can be placed on collection bins and products, much like the recycling symbol is used currently.

The contest is open until Aug. 22 at noon. For details, visit the contest's [website][1].
