## _PetroChem Wire_: Recycled PET rises in February

Higher prices for PET bales and prime PET supported higher recycled PET prices in February. Post-consumer bales are reported selling this month at 19-20 cents per pound, up 1.5-3 cents. Prime PET prices were up 3-4 cents per pound in February.
Recycled PET pellets were up an average of 3 cents per pound in February versus January. Clear FDA grade rPET pellets hovered near 80 cents per pound, with green pellets meeting FDA specifications selling around 7 cents under clear pellets. In the rPET regrind or flake market, green regrind for strapping is reported in the low 40s, up 2-3 cents versus January. Clear flake for filament fiber is in the mid-to-upper 50s cents per pound in February.
