Plastics Recycling Update Magazine: PetroChem Wire: Recycled polyethylene prices rise

## _PetroChem Wire_: Recycled polyethylene prices rise

_By Editorial Staff, Resource Recycling_

Recycled HDPE prices increased in January, following higher prime and baled prices.

Prime PE producers asked for an increase of several cents per pound in both January and February. Meanwhile, suppliers increased prices for HDPE baled material by roughly 5-6 cents per pound in January. Some HDPE frac melt dairy natural pellets sold as high as 64 cents per pound at the end of the January, following a mid-January range mostly in the upper 50-cent range.

LD/LLD film pellets, mixed colors, sold at 40 cents per pound at the end of January, up from around 36-37 cents per pound in the middle of last month. HDPE frac melt dairy regrind natural ended January at 43-44 cents, with mixed color material closer to 38-40 cents.
