## R2:2013 draft document available
_By Editorial Staff, Resource Recycling_
R2 Solutions has released the first draft of its proposed R2:2013 revisions to the electronic recycling certification.
Developed with stakeholder input and review by the R2 Technical Advisory Committee, the revisions aim to clarify and improve on the R2:2008 requirements. Among the changes are clarifications of the definition of focus materials, as well as clarification that R2:2013 only permits import and export of e-scrap containing focus materials that is in compliance with the laws of both the importing and exporting country. Other changes that clarify the role of reuse, refurbishment and EH&S procedures are also included.
A [public comment](http://www.r2solutions.org/forms/r2-2013-standard-draft-release-for-public-comment/) period on the revisions will be in effect until Dec. 16. Aggregated comments will be taken into consideration as the R2 TAC prepares the final document for release next year.
