## Patent watch
Patent Application No. 20120173014 has been filed by a pair of New Jersey inventors -- Daniel Chung and Kazuo Morishita. The application describes a **reverse-vending machine** which scans, compacts and sorts deposited beverage containers.
Belgian firm Galactic S.A. has filed Patent Application No. 20120165554 for a method of **recycling a PLA polymer mixture**.
