A designer in the U.K. has developed what he is presenting as **a better way for people in the developing world to recycle e-scrap**. The [Esource][1] is a bike-powered machine designed to be relatively easy to maintain that separates copper and plastic using water in way that is not only healthier but leaves the recovered metal unburnt and more valuable.
The southern African country of Namibia did pretty well on the Global Information Technology Report of 2012, coming in at 33rd for its political and regulatory environments. But according to an [opinion piece][2] on [www.allafrica.com][3], the country could do even better by introducing e-scrap regulations.
**ECS Refining celebrated the one-year anniversary** of its Stockton, California processing plant with a [two day open house][4], June 27-28. The e-Stewards certified location has a processing capacity of 30 million pounds of material per year.
